Within this section we have provided information about the opportunities available to young people and where to go to for advice and support.

Please take the time to review as you may find something of interest to you.

If you are of compulsory school age – five to 16 years – you must stay in education until the last Friday of June in the school year in which you turn 16.

Once you turn 16 there are lots of opportunities to continue learning at school, college and later on at university.

If you can’t decide whether to carry on with your education you can talk to your teachers or the personal adviser at your school.

The Value of Further Education

Questioning why you should go to 6th form, college or undertake an apprenticeship? Here are the main reasons why further education should make a difference. It will:

4 Likely make you more prosperous.
4 Give you a better quality of life.
4 Be something you can pass on to your children.

Without further education, you may be left out. The relationship between further/higher education and success is becoming more and more significant in our economy and will be increasingly important for landing high-paying jobs.
