First Managers Programme

THE COURSE HAS BEEN POSTPONED. THERE WILL BE NO SESSION RUNNING ON FRIDAY 12th FEBRUARY 2010

The course is run once an academic year and is designed specifically for first time managers. It is based over three full day sessions.

It would suit a new manager wishing to get the best out of their staff and it would also suit those managers not having attended a course previously. It is designed to be highly participative.

Areas covered are:

  • Managing Culture and Change
  • Leadership and Management - the importance of coaching
  • Performance and Management

Aim

Attendance on this programme will impact Leadership & Management across FE Sussex, seeing an improvemnet in grades within 5 years.

Objectives - by the end of this development you will:

  • Have identified individual strengths/weaknesses in relation to your management style
  • Develop a personal action plan to effect change or improvement
  • Use a range of techniques to improve current leadership and management role
  • Identify further personal development needs
  • Have good knowledge of the enviroment of managing within FE

  • Self awareness
  • Knowledge of strengths and weaknesses
  • Confidence to try new things
  • Network of support
  • Knowledge of how own behaviour can change culture

The cost of the course will be £150 per delegate for the full 3 days training.
