Albion in the Community

FE Sussex holds a contract with Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club to oversee their Stepping Stones into Employment project.

Albion in the Community (AITC) is the charitable arm of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club. Every year, many thousands of people directly benefit from participating in AITC's courses and other actitives in Sussex and beyond.

The Stepping Stones into Employment project sees AITC engage with hard-to-reach adults (19+) in education and job search activities through a £500,000 European Social Fund/Learning & Skills Council funded project.

It provides support into work - voluntary or paid - to help unemployed adults become valuable members of the community. Learners are given the opportunity to gain accredited qualifcations in stewarding (Personal Best - Level 1) and leadership (Community Sports Leader Award - Level 2) and they are also provided with mentoring to support their personal development in education and/or employment. Opportunities include coaching for AITC, stewarding for Brighton & Hove Albion on match days and further education.

This project is delivered at Brighton & Hove Albion FC, Worthing FC, Hastings United FC and Havant & Waterlooville FC.
