Due to requests from colleagues wishing an extension to the deadline due to numerous circumstances from absence of critical staff for student endorsements to potential adverse weather forecast for the weekend and early next week.
Having taken all this into account the Spring Awards 2012 deadline has been extended to 3pm on Wednesday 8th February. This will be the final and only extension.
FE Sussex are pleased to announce the Spring Awards 2012, the main sponsor of which is City & Guilds. The 2012 awards have entry categories to match all learners in Sussex colleges and work based learning. The Spring Awards are only possible due to the commitment and generosity of the organisations who sponsor individual awards. We are pleased to announce the college taking the lead for entertainment and student involvement is Central Sussex College.
As in previous years the judges of the Spring Awards are looking for students and employers who have shown outstanding commitment to their education and training. We are particularly interested in learners who have shown excellence in their education and training, have overcome difficult circumstances and who continue to show applicationand commitment.
The Spring Awards are the only pan-Sussex student awards made each year and provide the chance for learners to recieved a life-changing high profile acknowledgement of their hard work and time at college. The award ceremony will take the form of a professionally produced BAFTA ceremony to be held at the Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel on Thursday 29th March 2012. Winners will be filmed in advance and video clips of them at work or in college played on the night.
Whether you are a learner, teacher or employer you are welcome to enter the Spring Awards. In keeping with prervious years we expect a very high standard of entries to reflect the quality of teaching and learning in Sussex, the commitment of learners and the expectations of our sponsors.
You may download entry forms and associated guidelines from the FE Sussex website. If after reading the entry forms and criteria you still have questions, please e-mail Dr Tim Strickland, Chief Executive Officer of FE Sussex (tim@fesussex.org.uk)
