Clerks Network

The Clerks' Network consists of the Clerks from Sussex colleges, both General FE, Specialist and Sixth Form. Its aim is to improve the quality of governance in Sussex. It normally meets at least once a year at Princes House in Brighton. The Clerks currently take it in turns to guest chair at meetings. Melissa Drayson (
4M.Drayson@worthing.ac.uk) and Marian Jones (4marian.jones@plumpton.ac.uk) currently lead on Governance/Clerks events including conferences and Governor Induction/Training Events.

The typical functions of the Group are to:
4Receive information on FE Sussex developments
4Review and plan the FE Sussex Governance programme
4Disseminate good practice
4Discuss current governance issues

The FE Sussex Governance programme will offer induction sessions for new and nearly new governors as well as a large event that looks at a particular issue in Governance.
