Inclusion Online

Inclusion Online is a programme of online training courses, designed to enable FE college staff to develop an understanding of the needs of learners with learning difficulties and disabilities, and strategies for supporting them.

The Sussex Colleges LLDD/Inclusion Support Network identified a need for the learning resources, to support Action for Inclusion and the integration of increased numbers of LDD learners into mainstream provision, so that college staff could access appropriate learning on a timely basis.

Inclusion Online is based on a successful model of online training originally developed for school staff, which is being redeveloped for the post-16 sector through Action for Inclusion activities in Sussex. The project is funded through the Learning for Living and Work investment funding.

FE Sussex is project managing the delivery of the courses, working alongside representatives of the Network. The courses will be available to providers via an annual licence, but will be free to Sussex colleges due to the investment of funding and expertise.

The courses will be available from September 2009, and include:

  • Foundation Module
  • Autistic Spectrum Condition
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs
  • Hearing Impairment
  • Visual Impairment
  • Managing Behaviour
