Plan-it

FE Sussex is currently helping West Sussex Local Education Authority to roll out Plan-it. which is an online, quiz based Individual Learning Plan (ILP) developed by S-cool, Bristol.

Plan-it enables young people to record their skills, qualities interests and achievements and integrates this with careers information. Plan-it enables young people to take an active part in building a realistic action plan and will use the data collected to compile a CV. It will also integrate with the Area Prospectus.

Plan-it will challenge and extend pupils’ aspirations, thereby helping with building confidence and self-awareness. Plan-it has powerful reporting tools which schools and colleges can use to identify problems and potential problems with pupils, inform curriculum planning, make strategic decisions and allocate resources.

To date:

  • Training has been delivered for 29 different West Sussex providers including mainstream and special schools, colleges, out of school learning providers and over 25 Careers and Intensive Personal Advisors
  • On-going support has been provided for the 13 providers who have used Plan-it
  • Practical assistance and encouragement has been offered to providers who have attended training to help them get started
  • A review of Plan-it has been started to inform best practice and identify barriers to providers using or wishing to use Plan-it
